Staff Accountant (Part-Time)

SessionM is looking for a Part Time Accounting Clerk who ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.


  • Record expenses to accounts and cost centers by vouching invoices and recording required journal entries.
  • Pay vendors by obtaining internal approvals, verifying federal identification numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; and resolving contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Process employee expense reports.
  • Collect payments on past due customer invoices, working with sales organization as needed.
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and lock box transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support requests of external auditors.
  • Complete other ad hoc requests as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Administer Concur travel and expense platform and related transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries.


  • Available schedule to work a minimum of 4 days and 20-30 hours a week.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Excellent organization and administration skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, thoroughness, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Concur expense, a plus.
  • 3 years bookkeeping experience preferred.
