SQE Automation Architect

Session M is looking to add a motivated and passionate person with a high attention to detail and a professional, methodical and technical approach to software development, architecture and testing to our team.

You will be working within the Quality Engineering organization and will be giving qualitative feedback on platform functionalities and design. In addition, you will be involved in the product lifecycle from the concept stage to final release, ensuring quality throughout.

As the Framework Automation SQE Lead you will be responsible for architecting, maintaining and executing automation framework and automated tests, as well as providing constructive feedback throughout the development lifecycle – technical knowledge, confidence and excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain automation framework which can run API tests, use-cases, and end-to-end scenarios among others 
  • Collaborate with product team, UX, development and quality engineering teams for detailed technical specs, implementation alternatives, use-case validations and inform cross-team dependencies
  • Contribute data to quality dashboards to ensure visibility of quality across the company
  • Drive improvements to the software development practices used for test automation
  • Partner with other teams to share automation libraries/best practices
  • Experience working within a global team
  • Lead initiatives to boost tooling, automation and integration speed, focusing on developer productivity, release velocity and product quality
  • Interact with developers/QA peers to resolve defects/issues
  • Create and manage bug reports
  • Monitor product and/or feature-level quality health metrics (testability, test health, coverage etc)
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to others on your team as well as providing mentoring to others in different teams 

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in building automated test solutions
  • Experience with TestRail preferred
  • Good understanding of version control tools – strong git knowledge is required.
  • Expert-level understanding of software quality principles.
  • Solid understanding of development methods for coded automation tests for multi-tiered applications
  • Automation frameworks: Selenium / Python / Ruby / JavaScript / Robot Framework (plus)
  • Excellent judgment skills and team working abilities
  • Very strong verbal/written communication skills & excellent attention to detail
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Desire to collaborate and mentor other members of the Quality Engineering team
  • Demonstrable ability to self-manage and be organized
